Episode 02: All About Arabians

Hello! Welcome to Flip N Tails: a tiny podcast for BIG horse lovers! I’m a horse girl who loves to ride and each week I’ll share about what I learn and love about horses. Today’s episode is a little bit about Arabians.

What makes them so cool?

Well, they’re really really really old. They’re 4,000 years old. They’re like the great great great grandparents of the regular horses we see every day.

One thing that’s interesting about Arabians

They come in many colors. Flea bitten, flea gray, black, copper. Copper like some Thoroughbreds because Thoroughbreds actually came from Arabians. If you want to learn more about Thoroughbreds then listen to Episode 1, All about Thoroughbreds.

What are they known for?

Well, they’re known for traveling, they’re known for pulling loads, and they’re also known for way back when, they were war horses.

A famous Arabian

Okay so guys, our minds are literally going to be blown. Because if any of you have watched Flicka, that horse, that horse was an Arabian. Now they were trying to sell it to us like it was a Mustang, but. We, we fell for it! But it’s an Arabian. And you want to know what it’s name was? Wahana.

So that’s it! Now you know a tiny bit more about this special horse. Join us next time and subscribe for another episode of Flip N Tails: a tiny podcast for BIG horse lovers!
